About

Hi and Welcome!

My name is Susan Harris and I am the owner of Sophisticated Stones by Sue. I design and create every piece of jewelry that we sell.

Each item is uniquely designed and handcrafted using various metals, semi-precious stones and distinctive crystals (for example, the Swarovski brand). I literally search “the world” to find the most unique and interesting stones and metals to use.

After over 30 years as an Insurance Executive in the Property/Casualty business, I had a strong desire to turn my attention back to the more creative “me.” I began my jewelry creations as a hobby, using my creative skills and keen eye for design, texture and color that I developed while working with my mother – over many years – in her Interior Design, Art and Antique businesses.

After about one year of creating jewelry pieces for friends and family, based upon the very positive feedback and the intense satisfaction I received from the creative process, I decided to “get serious” and formed the business “Sophisticated Stones by Sue”.

I began selling my Jewelry at Craft Fairs, Street Fairs and Holiday Boutiques. I continue to sell the majority of my jewelry at various craft fairs in New Jersey & New York.  In addition, I have a number of items in select Retail Specialty Boutiques though out New Jersey and I am also selling many pieces at in-home Jewelry Parties.

I have created over 400 unique pieces and sold hundreds of items over the past 2+ years. The creative process continues to evolve for me.  There are not enough hours in the day for me to craft the designs my mind continually creates, using everything from nature to architecture to fashion to interior design, as my inspirations.

Thank you for visiting my website. I hope you will “browse” and enjoy seeing my most recent creations.

Best Wishes,

Sue Harris
